The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is the trade association for the global solar industry. With more than 500 members, SEIA works to advance solar energy worldwide while also educating the public on the benefits of solar energy.
SEIA offers a variety of professional and personal development opportunities to its members and the solar industry at large. One of the organization’s significant projects is the compilation of industry data through SEIA Research and the publication of the SEIA Market Report and Analysis.
SEIA Research Analyst (REA)
SEIA Research Analyst (REA) is the professional arm of SEIA that conducts original economic research on topics of interest to the solar industry, including technologies, markets, business models, and policy.
REA offers a unique educational opportunity for students to gain in-demand job skills and gain valuable career experience while also contributing to an industry that is rapidly changing the world we live in.
SEIA Professional Development
SEIA offers numerous opportunities to its members in the form of professional development and training programs.
The organization’s Education & Training program provides in-demand skills for career progression, while its Leadership Development program provides a platform for aspiring leaders to hone their skills.
Additionally, SEIA’s Community Building program enables members to get involved and contribute to the growth of the solar industry.
Global Solar Summit
SEIA holds an annual Global Solar Summit (GSS) to bring together industry leaders and stakeholders to discuss current topics impacting the solar industry.
The 2018 GSS was held in sunny Orlando, Florida on April 26-29. In 2018, more than 700 people from over 40 countries attended the Orlando event, including over 300 exhibitors displaying the latest products and services for solar professionals.
The Orlando summit was an opportunity to network and learn from each other while engaging in discussion on current topics.
SEIA Congressional Internship
SEIA partners with key congressional staff members to educate them on the value that solar energy provides to the global economy and society.
As members of SEIA, congressional interns will gain experience that will be valuable on their future job search. Furthermore, partnering with congressional staff members enables students to learn about federal legislative policymaking which will enhance their general knowledge and understanding of the political system.
SEIA Ambassadors
SEIA works with various national and international non-profit organizations to identify emerging market opportunities in countries where the solar industry is burgeoning.
These organizations become known as SEIA Ambassadors, and their job is to introduce and educate others on the benefits of solar energy. Through this type of outreach, SEIA works to create awareness, demand, and momentum for solar energy worldwide.
SEIA Student Chapter
Each year, SEIA Student Chapters are formed at leading universities around the world to provide students with an engaging social environment and to give them the opportunity to get involved and engaged with the global solar community.
There are currently 52 active SEIA Student Chapters with students in nearly every country. Through these student chapters, future SEIA members get an inside look at what it means to be a part of an association that is transforming the way we generate and use energy worldwide.
Saving The World With Solar
As we mentioned above, SEIA advances solar energy through research, education, and collaboration. These activities help support the global effort to save the world through solar energy. Through its research operations, for example, SEIA develops industry specifications, analyzes markets, and investigates technologies relevant to the solar industry.
SEIA also works to educate the public and policy makers worldwide on the benefits of solar energy through its Education & Training program and Congressional Internship. Finally, the organization promotes collaboration in the industry through its various events and publications.
