The Trip to
Costco and Co-opMeriah Cory

MERIAH'S JOURNAL

After lunch we took a field trip to Costco and the Co-op to see how they are run differently. At Costco they buy things in bulk and if locals want to sell their food they have to package their product to Costco's specifications, which is so it can sell itself. And sometimes that means a lot of packaging. Also the manager was secretive about what goes on at Costco.

After talking to the manager we wrote down some prices and where things came from. Then we went to the Co-op. The Co-op does not have the big bulk Cosco has but it sells local grown food and they do not care about packaging. The Co-op also sells over-ripe fruit and organic food. Their food is more expensive but healthier food.
