Ivy Merriot, Team Teacher, Passionate about the life value of science learning. Loved the field trips as much as the students did

**I enjoyed the speakers, they were all very personable and credible.
**I enjoyed the students. They attacked each duty and problem with focused minds. They were at ease yet respectful when standing up for their differences.
**I enjoyed the field trips and felt they were very appropriate for our task. The contrast in trips was helpful in discerning the priority placed on ecological values by different people and businesses.
**I enjoyed the team at BTC which coordinated and developed this project: Kim, George, John, Ken and Christy. They were extremely helpful and moved us at a pace which was inspiring yet non-rushed.
** I enjoyed seeing our youth taking on a real problem and watching the workings of their creative minds.

It was one of the most delightful and insightful learning experiences I've ever known. I heard the students say the same. They wished that school could be like this.

If we have an ecological footprint, don't we also have the hope of an ecological hand reaching out to come to the aid of the environment? People are extremely adaptable. Ken was happily surprised at the creativity and adaptability of his footprint island team. They found other ways to satisfy their needs than to always just use up rare resources. I think humans in our real world can reach out that ecological hand and do the same. It would be fun to collect ideas about possible activities of the ecological hand.

Thank you for so flawlessly coordinating this event that has penetrated the habits of my mind, and caused, as it has for the students, the genesis of a deeper understanding.
